Non mancano le sorprese, l’ultima cena della crociera si
tiene sulla spiaggia di un’isola deserta, illuminata dalle torce.
Si lascia lo yacht all’imbrunire con i tender, l’isola è ancora im-
mersa nella penombra e, mentre gli ospiti sbarcano, vengono
accese le torce che illuminano il tavolo e i sedili scavati nel-
la sabbia, ricoperti dalla tovaglia e da stuoie e tappeti. Il sole
scompare all’orizzonte e lo chef si dà da fare al barbecue fno a
che terminata la cena, a un cenno del cruise director, si ode un
rullo di tamburi e tra le palme sbucano una decina di musici e
danzatori (lo staf di bordo) che coinvolge i presenti in un tur-
binio di danze indigene molto ritmate.
All’indomani, dopo colazione, il capitano scruta il cielo, an-
cora pochi minuti e l’idrovolante della Maldivian Air Taxi rag-
giungerà lo yacht e riporterà gli ospiti all’aeroporto di Malé o a
uno dei due resort della Four Seasons.

Surprises are not lacking. The last dinner of the cruise takes
place in torch-light on the beach of a deserted island. The guests
leave the yacht at dusk by tender, fnd the island still immersed
in penumbra. And as they disembark, torches which illuminate
the tables are lit, seats dug out of the sand, covered with the
tablecloth, straw mats and rugs. The sun disappears on the
horizon and the chef is busy at the barbecue until the end of the
dinner. At the captain’s signal, the sound of drum rolls is heard
and from among the palms appear about ten musicians and
dancers (the onboard staf) who involve the guest in a frenzy of
very rhythmic indigenous dances.
After breakfast the next day, the captain observes the sky and
in a few minutes the Maldivian Air Taxi seaplane will reach the
yacht and transport the guest to the airport of Male.
